For Edison Yap, cold chain logistics is about more than transportation. It is about ensuring food remains fresh, safe and reliable throughout every stage of its journey.
In 2019, Edison founded AFG Logistics Sdn Bhd in Klang, Selangor, after recognising an opportunity to provide more comprehensive cold chain solutions for Malaysia’s food and beverage industry.
Building AFG Logistics From the Ground Up
From the beginning, Edison’s vision was to create a seamless, end-to-end cold chain logistics business.
AFG Logistics introduced solutions including three-compartment temperature-controlled trucks, flexible warehousing and international logistics support, allowing the company to serve different requirements across the food supply chain.
Within five years, the company achieved a million-US-dollar milestone, reflecting its rapid development from a new logistics venture into an established industry player.
Creating a One-Stop Cold Chain Solution
Headquartered in Klang, AFG Logistics provides services designed to maintain food safety and freshness throughout transportation and storage.
Its capabilities include adaptable warehousing, temperature-controlled transportation and streamlined international logistics. The company also holds halal certification for its cold chain logistics operations, supporting customers with specific handling requirements.
For Edison, combining innovation with operational efficiency has been central to building a trusted logistics partner for the food and beverage sector.
Building AFG Logistics for the Future
Edison’s ambitions extend well beyond the company’s current growth.
Looking towards 2035, his long-term goal is to take AFG Logistics public while continuing to expand its capabilities and strengthen its position within the cold chain industry.
His journey reflects an entrepreneurial vision built around identifying an industry need, developing practical solutions and continuously looking ahead to the next stage of growth.
